All surgery patients will have pain control during and after the surgery, IV access the entire procedure and depending on the surgery they will have IV fluids post surgery as well. Each patient it monitored by a technician.

Dr. Poirier is trained in surgical repair of cranial cruciate rupture in dogs under 80lbs.  This surgery can greatly improve patient comfort and mobility in those with torn ACLs . 

If your pet is limping or favoring a leg, this does mean they are uncomfortable or painful (even if they are not crying or whimpering). Having your pet evaluated will help them to recover and get them comfortable again.
